Susan Johnson is a Flagstaff, Arizona author, historian, and paranormal researcher: author of Haunted Flagstaff, Wicked Flagstaff, and Flagstaff’s Walkup Family Murders from The History Press, curator of the weekly Flagstaff History column in the Arizona Daily Sun, and co-founder of Freaky Foot Tours.

Flagstaff resident since 1989. She wrote this case with the town’s records open on the desk.

Susan Johnson has lived in Flagstaff since 1989. Flagstaff’s Walkup Family Murders was her first book for The History Press, and it set the pattern for the two that followed: the town’s records first, the telling second, and no invention anywhere. Her other books are Haunted Flagstaff and Wicked Flagstaff.
